Cooking Instructions

A unique and flavorful twist on a family favorite, these Korean Sloppy Joes are simple to make and are filled with sweet and savory Asian flavors. The ground beef is browned on the grill to infuse wood-fired flavor then tossed in a sweet and tangy sauce with sesame oil, hoisin, tamari, rice vinegar and sriracha. Spoon it onto a toasted brioche roll and top with scallions for an easy lunch or dinner that won’t fail to impress.

Wood Pellet Recommendation

In order to bring out some of that patented sweet heat flavor present in Korean food, we recommend using our New England Apple Hardwood Pellets

Note: This recipe uses Louisiana Grills Smokey, Spicy, Sweet Hot Rub Seasoning

  1. Fire up your Louisiana Grills pellet grill on SMOKE mode and let it run with lid open for 10 minutes then preheat to 400° F. If using a gas or charcoal grill, set it up for medium-high heat.
  2. Place cast iron skillet on grill grates and allow to preheat.
  3. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, then add in the garlic, sesame oil, Smokey Spicy Sweet Hot, ketchup, hoisin, water, tamari, rice vinegar, and sriracha. Stir occasionally for 5 minutes, until the sauce starts to thicken.
  4. Remove the skillet from the grill, then lightly grill the buns.
  5. Serve sloppy Joe mixture warm on grilled brioche, garnished with scallions.
