Barbeque Potato Chips

4 Burger Buns

1 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

1/2 Cup Gherkin Pickles, Diced

1 Pound Ground Beef

1 Tablespoon Hot Sauce

1 Cup Mayo

2 Tablespoons Mustard, Dijon

3 Tablespoon Mustard, Whole Grain

2 Tablespoons Parsley, Leaves

4 Pepper Jack Cheese, Sliced

1 Cup Crinkle Cut Pickle, Sliced

4 Smoked Ham, Sliced

1 Tablespoon Sweet Rib Rub

There are many different variations of hamburger recipes out there but if you’re looking for one that perfectly combines spicy and tangy sweetness then this Louisiana Cajun Burger with Remoulade Sauce is one you HAVE to try.

Remoulade sauce is like a Cajun tartar sauce. Depending on the region you are in, it is either yellowish or reddish in color. This sauce uses pickles, hot sauce, Dijon and whole grain mustard, cayenne pepper and mayonnaise for a tangy, sweet, and spicy topping. It’s the perfect homemade condiment for those willing to refine their burgers from the classic ketchup and mustard.

Note: It is recommended to use Texas Mesquite Hardwood Pellets with this recipe.

This recipe uses Sweet Rib Rub seasoning.

  1. For the remoulade sauce, mix the hot sauce, Dijon mustard, parsley, cayenne pepper, mayo, and whole grain mustard in a bowl with a whisk. Set aside.
  2. For the burgers: in a large bowl, mix the ground beef and Sweet Rib Rub. Form into patties.
  3. Preheat your Louisiana Grill to 350°F and grill the burgers for 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through. Once the burgers have been flipped, top each patty with a slice of ham and a slice of pepper jack cheese. 
  4. Once the burgers have been grilled to your desired degree of doneness, remove them from the grill and assemble the burgers. Top the bun with the burger, add a generous spoonful of the Cajun remoulade, add a few pickle slices, a small handful of barbecue potato chips, then top with a bun. Serve immediately and enjoy!
